The Norwegian Cruise line is worth considering if you’re a fan of freestyle cruising with no schedules and stipulations. They don't have any dress codes for dining, formal nights, and other events; you’re your own boss on Norwegian cruises.
Just like the Carnival, the Norwegian Cruise line also has a private Island, “Great Stirrup Cay”, and it’s worth visiting the Island in the Bahamas. I love the shore excursions and itineraries offered by the cruise line; there is so much fun and friendly environment in each of their port activities.
Being a gold member of their loyalty program, I’ve seen so much fun onboard. OMG! The Norwegian Speedway is one of the iconic attractions that you must try. Imagine a kart racing on the seas. Looks like a one-of-a-kind activity onboard! You can also immerse yourself in a virtual reality experience, take water slides, and try your luck in casinos.
The Norwegian Cruise Line came into being in 1966, and it was the first cruise line that introduced the concept of freestyle cruising, which is more like an informal way of cruising. Also, this was the first cruise operator to launch their first private Island in Bahamas called “Great Stirrup Cay”.
Currently, NCL is operating 19 cruise ships, and four more ships are on the way and will come in the next few years.
Besides their freestyle traveling experience, the one thing that sets Norway apart from other cruise lines is their awesome itineraries; they offer a wide range of shore excursions and fun so you can explore the world better.
Norwegian Cruise Line is also famous for offering exclusive discounts on their drink packages. Their premium beverage package costs nothing if you’re buying it from the “Free At Sea promotion.” They also offer huge discounts on fares, internet packages, and airfares. Because of these perks, Norwegian Cruises works much faster than any other cruise line.
The one thing that I love about NCL is their support for solo travelers; they offer exclusive cabins for singles and many more perks. Their solo staterooms are called studio staterooms; they are cheaper and easily fit everyone’s budget.
I’ve sailed with many cruise ships, but the Norwegian has a different posh vibes; it’s like a high-end floating hotel on the sea. The new Norwegian Prima, launched in 2022, has a most luxurious staterooms.
They have lavish suites, penthouses, balcony suites, ocean-view staterooms, inside cabins, and solo staterooms. Each stateroom will offer top-notch amenities, comfort, luxury, and lavish attached baths.
Everything is on a whole new level, from interior designs to decoration. I’ve also ridden on older NCL cruise ships, including Norwegian Sun and Pride of America, but they are not as fancy as Norwegian Prime and Encore. So, if you plan to sail with NCL, I suggest you go for their newer ships.
